University of Georgia, Georgia Center negatives, 1950-1965.

The collection consists of a collection of negatives from, among other sources, Pandora, The Red & Black, and the photographic services of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. The order is roughly chronological and included are a variety of different photographs depicting such things as campus buildings and grounds (including the construction of new buildings), shots of University fraternity, sorority, and club members, social events, individual portraits, departmental activities, conferences of assorted organizations, etc. A numerical inventory listing is available for perusal and will greatly aid the selection of particular types of negatives. The collection consist of 15 Hollinger boxes containing approximately 4,000 folders with anywhere from 1 to 30 or more negatives in each folder. The condition and quality of the negatives vary; many are scratched or otherwise damaged. The earlier negatives are 4x5 or 2x2, whereas there are an increasing number of less well-identified and less well-preserved 35mm negatives in folders in the later ranges of dates.
